Tried a pasture field today where the farmer said on old cottage once stood. Think the farmer was correct, although the main part of the building was the other side of the fence. The roof tiles are still there breaking throgh the soil in some trees. There was a massive amount of clay pipe stems and bowls, also bricks pottery and rubble. In places digging was next to impossible, my small digger was about as much use as a solar powered vampire. For me the best find was a punch made from copper.
