This Morning "The Score"

Dropped off the kids at school and stopped by the bank. This is my second bank. I asked for $300 in halves. The tellers were excited because they had some in their drawers, (not those kind of drawers) They actually told me that they were happy that I was taking the coins. One of the tellers asked the others to empty out their halves as well. During this time, one of the tellers said, "Boy, are you going to like what I have for you." I'll have to admit, that under other circumstances I wouldn't have been phased, being the good looking guy that I am. But today was different, I knew she was referring to silver coins, and maybe even a mother load. I could hear them dropping the coins into a bag, while my eyes grew wider with every clink of silver I would hear hit the clad.

I purchased a total of $140.00 in halves:

Below is the result...Half were keepers, the other half were wrapped in tubes marked "Valley Coin Shop" go figure.

The top pic is today's find, 2nd all time find
The pic at the bottom is a total combines with yesterdays finds.

4 fulls rolls of Walkers and 2 1/2 rolls of Franklins

Re: This Morning "The Score"

I think beginners luck exists sometimes because you have someone start up the hobbie in an area where this is a new idea and not too many people are doing it. In this way you can hit all the local banks and towns close by and hit the rolls that have been sitting there for ages full of silver. Just my take on it.

Re: This Morning "The Score"

I think you are right golden silver. When I started I had about one dream stop per month. After about six months I'd hit almost every bank in a 50 mile radius and collected up all the old stuff hanging around for years. I'm not alone in the area either as I often hear that someone came in the day or week before and collected everything. The only choice then is to expand the radius or take a brake on bank hopping and concentrate more on quantity of boxes. I'm sure this is the natural progression of most CRH addicts. :tard: I average 6 keepers per box which makes it worth the effort for me as I dump by the bag versus the earlier days of constantly using the nearest free counting machine.

Re: This Morning "The Score"

geez, that's a heckuva score ya got there steve! congratulations! you got some good dates in those bens and walkers.

golden silver is exactly right. seems you're in an area that is ripe for the pickin'. sounds like you don't have ANY competition in your area. hit it hard and pull all ya can until it seems to dry up. once you've done that try a road trip here and there to hit ALL the banks the next town over in every direction. pull all ya can as quick as ya can (ya never know when a CRH'er will pass through your area). then hit the boxes for a while to let the banks reload.

i'm looking forward to bankhoppin' this time of year because i imagine some folks are going to be cashing in coin for christmas money. who knows what kind of goodies are gonna be hittin' the banks in handrolls so be sure to ask about large dollar coins and maybe even dimes. silver is silver no matter what denomination.

congratulations again on a great start and good luck in your future searches. happy holidays as well.
