This Morning "The Score"

Dropped off the kids at school and stopped by the bank. This is my second bank. I asked for $300 in halves. The tellers were excited because they had some in their drawers, (not those kind of drawers) They actually told me that they were happy that I was taking the coins. One of the tellers asked the others to empty out their halves as well. During this time, one of the tellers said, "Boy, are you going to like what I have for you." I'll have to admit, that under other circumstances I wouldn't have been phased, being the good looking guy that I am. But today was different, I knew she was referring to silver coins, and maybe even a mother load. I could hear them dropping the coins into a bag, while my eyes grew wider with every clink of silver I would hear hit the clad.

I purchased a total of $140.00 in halves:

Below is the result...Half were keepers, the other half were wrapped in tubes marked "Valley Coin Shop" go figure.

The top pic is today's find, 2nd all time find
The pic at the bottom is a total combines with yesterdays finds.

4 fulls rolls of Walkers and 2 1/2 rolls of Franklins

Not sure about key dates, but I did several with the letter S or D on them.

WOW! This hobby is definately one that caters to beginners luck!

Whether it is nickels or halves or pennies, etc. the new comers always get some INCREDIBLE finds when they first show up to the hobby and forum.

A HUGE congrats to you... that is a nice cache you have there, and some of them look to be in EXCELLENT shape!

holy half dollars man. did the valley coin shop go out of business? This might seem like a strange question but, did the Valley Coin Shop get robbed and someone dumped the loot in a bank. Those are some great finds, congratulations.

I'm just wowed.

Helluva score!

Congrats!

Look for 1917 obverse mintmarks and see if there are any 1920 & 21 dates there.

I think that you are right! Because I haven't hit a bad day yet, or been skunked. After reading the stories here, it seems a matter of time before it happens, but if you know the inevitable, than it doesn't bother ya so much. Either way, it's I'm very happy to have discovered a new way of hoarding silver. No more coin shops for me. It's still nice to get a few Silver Eagles every once in a while though.

P.S. If anything, I hope my score, in some way, is motivating for everyone. At least it makes me feel that there are other good scores like this out there.
