the dear bufo toad...

dumb as can be, eats dog food if you leave it out and will poison your cat or dog if they try to eat it. they will also pee out a stong stream sometimes when you pick them up! safe to handle just dont let them pee on you and wsh your hands after your done with him. dont wipe face or eyes with hands until you wash your hands after handling a bufo.

The little Bufo Punctatus or Red Spotted Toad is not the same large Bufo toad that lives here in South Florida.

The Red-spotted Toad is one of the smaller toads, reaching lengths around 2 1/2 to 3 inches. The only toad with round parotid glands that are the same size as the eye. They have a general body pattern that is flattened. This allows them to crawl beneath rocks and crevices where these night active toads spend much of the day hiding. Though sometimes encountered in the flood plains of rivers, they are more often found among rocks where they prefer to hide. Their dorsal coloration ranges from various shades of brown to gray with scattered red spots. They breed from March to September, in connection with rains.

Here is its range.

Big Cypress,

Hey Buddy, long time. Go about another 75 or 100 miles north and that is where this little guy is living. He must be in a very good environment as stretched out he will go almost 8 inches. He is in theexact environ you discribe but the drainage is a good piece away.

This is at our #2 Jesuit site... Lots of rocks.

Thanks for all the info.

My ex MIL looked a little better than that. She didn't have arms and legs and slithered here and there.
