Looks as though you guys have it i was just going to add that knife sharpeners almost always have raised textures on the metal rod for shapining ive seen straight lines an a rifling sort of pattern running the length of the rod. :) Thanks contractorod

Sorry I haven't answered back. I was out of town attending the "World Baseball Coaches' Convention" at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. I didn't have access to a computer and even if I had didn't have the time......It's made of Iron or so I think. The rest of the data is in the original description......Michelle posted probably the most convincing picture and I guess that what I'll call it. I also liked the garden hose guards as a possibility. I only issue I had with that is the top end was kinda of narrow. Anyways Thank you for all your wonderful work on Identifying my "Knife Sharpener" I knew if I posted it here I'd get some results, I always do.....
