Having been all excited and glued to the TV for news of the storm, I anticipated some good sand movement that might expose the good stuff but the sand movement went the OTHER way and seems to have accumulated on most of the beaches around here. I felt like I had been running all over trying to hit as many low tides as I could in different places but kept getting skunked. After hitting a couple spots yesterday with little positive results, I decided to try one last spot before I had to call it quits. One other local pirate was there and had found a couple nice silvers nearby and alot od other stuff. I zigzagged around for a while and there were plenty of tgts to keep me busy but no really good ones. I was making my way back to where I started and was getting close to my expiration time when I got a big penny signal at 12.28. I started digging and the numbers and tones were fluctuating between high and low and I thought I was looking at more brass screws or bottle cap type signals. Last signal I got before it came out of the hole was a solid 12.06 with no wavering and there it was in the scoop, one PIG of a class ring, 13.3 grams of 10K! Ring Daddy #16.
There were a few other decent tgts, couple of wheat pennies, and old wheel off of likely and antique toy (wagon or model-T), a junk ring and an old really green patina buckle. The big giant rusty tgt I have not busted open yet, ringing up as a 12.02 on the ctx but I'm pretty sure whatever it is won't be worth taking a picture of.
Early this AM I hit the beach again in another spot and managed a silver ring and another wheat, but the waves are still too rough to get very far into the water. At least with all the wind and sand movement (the wrong way) I could be happy with the fact that there were still SOME good tgts that were pushed up high and didn't sink too far down. Now we'll all REALLY be happy if some of that sand gets pulled off and exposes more of the stuff that got pushed up and is buried deeper! Fingers crossed!
(other pictures are from some of the hunts before and just after the storm) Thanks for looking and good luck!
