I am thinking of buying a new Seahunter M2 for my second detector have had a GTA-1000 for 25yrs and it still works like a champ. My grandson wants to go beach hunting with me. I plan on letting him use the GTA and I want to go into the surf. I have two questions.

(1) Should I buy the Optional coil while I'm at it (What are the pro's and cons)

(2) KellyCo advertizes that they will refund 120% of the difference in price if you find the detector cheaper somewhere else. They supposedly throw in goodie packages. (Will they use that to void the guaranteed price)???

1. Should you buy the optional coil? Depends if you want if at that price. You might find it cheaper somewhere else.

2. I won't comment on KellyCo's business practices or policies as I was banded once before as they are a major sponsor. The Seahunter mk2 is a nice pulse unit but I like the Sand Shark better.

Well I bit the bullet and bought it and Kellyco says if they match the price then you get no accessories or goodie packages.
They also say they will not help me out with the Divorce papers for when the wife gets the bill!!!

PS: Steve is good to work with on the phone.

i recently just bought a sef coil for my v3i from kellycoi i really couldnt complain they were nice sent it right out and sent me all the confirmed emails to prove it all

PS: After thinking about it I believe i bought the GTA on my 5th anniversary an i'm coming up on 45 years about 5 years ago I had a problem with the battery holders cracking and called Garrett to purchase new ones being unit was 30+ years out of warranty they sent me a pair for free overnight. Talking to other Garrett owners they have had similar experiences. I decided to stick with Garrett because they are an American company that believes and sticks to excellent customer service.

I bought my SH 2 from kellyCo with no issues. I must say, I was not overly impressed with the quality of the "goodie" package - ie gloves, apron pouch, multi tool all seemed of low quality, would have been better if they teamed up with a decent supplier and included a scoop or something?
I gave all my goodies away.

The MD itself, and KCo support I can not fault at all.

I just bought the large coil recently and love it! little more concentration for pinpointing needed, but I am on a good site so its great for me!

The majority of the give always are supplied my the manufacturer of what ever detector you buy.

I met with the owner of Kellyco yesterday evening and took a tour of their warehouse and operations. Very impressive to say the least.

I received my Mark II yesterday went over my front yard and got two hits but my yard needs a pick in order to dig them. I don't think the wife would be happy if i start digging holes so I guess it will have to wait until I get to the beach. I might try it out when i go boating this weekend there are a couple of islands where people anchor their boats and swim off the beach. As far as the freebees go I agree most of it is advertizing junk not worth the $300 they say it is. The backpack had a broken zipper out of the bag and Kellyco said they will send me a new one.
