I don't have a clue what this is, my guess is it's a piece of a lock of some sort, seems to be made of brass or copper.
let me know what you guys and gals think it is.

What size is it? It kinda' looks like an old gas pedal.

Looks like the back plate of a lock.

Sorry It's about 1 1/4 inch x 1 1/8 inch

Ok then, given that size, my first guess was definately wrong ... back of a lock plate sounds about right... interesting find.
