Well today was supposed to be a rain out weather wise, but they cut the corn, it was my only opportunity since the cut, I really wished hard for a good day and got it. :icon_sunny: I had folks rooting for me, I may have let them down.............but I had a BALL!

I show up to a bunch of turkeys in my site. :D With all the corn they left behind after the cut who could blame them? :-\ Looks like a good year for the hunters, got some girth going on here. :D

Get moving......an old buck shows up as I'm 10 feet from my car. "Find any arrow heads down here?" I love that question when I have my detector swinging! :D He is picking up corn for bird feed for his Mom, how sweet. :) What a chatter box! He was totally fascinated with the whole aspect. Next thing I know he is bringing me bottle tops, broken pottery, yelling "your there, your there!" :D Every time the detector beeped he wanted to know what I found. :D What motivation to find something great (not). I really wanted to find him an arrow head (not) but we talked about the shards I found and how they were made. He had as much fun as I did. I bet I see him again! :) To see some one get so excited over my blueish pottery thingy? :icon_scratch: Lead pipe..........you should have seen the look on his face when I found the barn door hinge? :D

The finds are pretty much self explanatory (junk :tongue3: ). The buckle looking thingy I doubt is a buckle, too big? Hey how much is lead bringing nowadays? I got a bunch of it! :D I do like the large hinge thingy, I only ended up with 2 nails, 3 if you count the one in the hinge ;D.

I got to get out to a great site, and will be going back on Wed. if the rain (again) holds out :-\ . I'll get a good one before the year is out, just wait and see!

The pictures were good, the rain held off, I made a new friend, my knees hurt :-[, above all else I had fun!

P.S. I know why salamanders are orange...........so you don't step on the little buggers!

MM, I know what you mean, this is where it was at a month ago. I hope they cut for you soon!

Thanks for the I'd on the machine chain part gentlemen!

Mister, thanks for the link, it's a cool read! Joe check it out.

Frodov I really didn't mind him tagging along for a bit, he was very nice. To have someone that curious about the hobby, to want to listen and learn, who was there to pick p corn but started picking up treasures instead? Maybe he'll get a detector?

Joe, Keep dancing for me! Dang I was going to hold the little fella for you, but the picture is on my other memory card out in the trail camera. I haven't seen one in a while, we used to catch them as kids all the time. :icon_sunny:

Leslie, No turkeys? They aren't doing any damage, they are just picking up the droppings fattening up for the hunters :-\. They are very good eating. Allot of folks use the feathers for tieing flies for fishing.

Glad you got out sis! Looks like you had a great time and even found some nails, the old standby again! lol I like the old hinge too! Congrats on a good day and hope you get back out there Weds!!

Girl!!! You are on to something there! Those goodies are just waiting on you!! Get back out there and keep diggin! You're going to find some great keepers from there, I just know it!! :icon_pirat:
LOVE that salamander picture! I remember catching those buggers when I was a kid...my Momma would get sooooo mad at me! :D

GREAT pictures! Good luck on your return!~ Nana

Sis, Gotta have those nails and rusty crusty's. :D Now they are saying chance of showers for Wed. Keep your fingers crossed.

Joe, You are still dancing right? :icon_sunny:

Nana, I'm going to dig until the ground freezes over. My Mom used to scream about the frogs. :D

yep keep at it you are on to something. I would branch out in circles around where you were picking up the glass at and widen your search from there. I know its hard in the field because the plow scatters everything all over. If there was a slight incline anywhere I would head that direction.

I love the pics and my little boy would go ape over the orange thing, he catches lizards and bugs here everday studies them and then lets them go before bedtime.

GIRL THAT WAS A GREAT POST. HOPE THE CORN FIELD PRODUCES FOR YOU.

I think the blueish shards are willow ware. My grandmother has quite a collection of it.

Kickergirl, I think I will try to cherry pick the knoll there, some friendly advice I got. Probably means I'll end up with more farm equipment, but that's OK, I get a kick out of it. :D Your little boy would have a ball down there, the last time there were little leopard frogs, not much bigger than the salamander.

Kirk, there has to be a coppa in my future somewhere, let's hope near future. :)

DD, hope they cut soon for you!

I do believe the blue plate pieces are willow, thanks for all the encouragement folks!
