Visited multiple banks today. Got $1.50 loose halves from bank A, clad. Bank B had one loose clad half. But she also had a 72' clad Ike I got from her tray. Bank C had $4.50 loose and 4 hand wrapped rolls. All clad. Bank D had $ 9.50 loose and 1 roll. All clad.

Lookout finds: 1948 wheat.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
8/7/2014

Brinks box of nickels: One 1943 P war nick, and three 1944 P war nicks. The last roll in the box had two wars in it, which was the 43' P and one of the three 44 P's in the box.

4 Brinks rolls of halves: Skunk.

5$ loose from the bank I picked up the nickels at. Gave a 51' Ben and a 1917 Walker. My first ever. Was insanely excited. The thing is they had much more loose that I could see, but I didnt want to be over-bearing and ask twice so I took my silver and left happy. Luckily I went back 6 days later and scored more. Which will be posted below...

String box of cents: Brand New 2014.

Brinks box of cents: Brand new 2013. This is the third new 2013 box of cents Ive gotten from this bank. Ill clean them out eventually and the circulated boxes will come in...

Brinks box of nickels: 5 War nickels total, which breaks my previous record of 4 in a box. The dates on those are 1943 P, 1944 P, 1944 S, and two 1945 P's. Also, my first V-Nickel ever! And with an awesome date of 1898. Definitely my best nickel box ever.

1$ in loose halves: Clad.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
8/13/2014

7 hand wrapped rolls of cents: 1 wheat, 1950 D.

5 hand wrapped rolls of nickels: Skunk.

1 hand wrapped roll of dimes: Skunk.

Brinks box of nickels: Skunk.

5$ in loose halves from bank A: Clad.

Went back to the bank that had the Ben and Walker in the teller tray, and this time got nearly all loose they had. I say this because one tray quite a distance away in there had only 1 half that I could see in it when I left. Regardless of the 13$ that was loose, a managed two 40%ers and a 64'. That must mean this bank isnt being hit up for halves often if at all. Hopefully they produce in the future too...

3 hand wrapped rolls of nickels: Skunk.

4 hand wrapped rolls of dimes: Skunk.

8 Brinks rolls of cents: 2 wheats, 1956 D and 1955.

Brinks box of nickels: A 1943 P war nick, a 1944 P war nick, a 1945 P war nick, a dateless buff, and a "Helvetica 20" coin which I think is Swedish. Date on that is 1980.

$5.50 in loose halves: Clad.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8/17/2014

Brinks box of nickels: A 1997 P dime, and another "Helvetica 20" coin. This one was a 1969.

Went to Burger King and got a 1957 D wheat in change.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8/18/2014

3 Hand wrapped rolls of halves: 1 40%er, 1969 D. Ill take it. :ruby:

Brinks box of cents: Brand new 2014.

Brinks box of nickels: A 1942 S war nick, a 1943 P war nick, a 1943 S war nick, a dateless buff, and a 1937 buff. The 42' S and 43' S are both extremely worn down. More so than usual when it comes to war nicks. The S on the 42' is barely there but just able to be made out in light. Ill take them though. Who wouldnt?

And of course, I wish the best of luck to everyone else. I may make nickels my main thing. At least until I can up my bankroll. Nickels have been solid lately and I wouldnt want to miss out on any wars or buffs. Dateless or not.

8/25/2014

30 brinks rolls of nickels: 1928 buffalo.

Brinks box of nickels: A weird "Asian" looking "10" coin, and a 42' P war nick.

$7.50 loose halves from bank A gave a half plated 71' D that had like extra chrome metal on top, and a "50" ecuador coin. The plating job was only done on one side and the edges looked silver but I knew better. 8$ loose from bank B was all clad unfortunately.

Also, worked on a second brinks box of nickels but didnt finish it before the day technically ended, so for this part of the day of that box (20 rolls worth) I got a 43' P war nick, and a 1975 Canadian nickel. Before this day I never had gotten a pure nickel Canadian in a box so thats a first. I have 11 of them total now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

$2 for a Washington quarter is a smokin' deal. 24 wheats in a single box is awesome. I usually get only about half that many. Nice find with the 1910.

12/16/2014

Ive recently got a new girlfriend, and today we visited one of her friends which happens to be one of my ex bosses from when I worked at walmart. (Which I lost the job there officially on August 1st) Long story short, at her house she mentioned how she had a large amount of change I can go through. There wasn't that much, what a roll hunter considers a "large" amount of change is obviously different than someone who doesn't hunt but regardless, I found 5 wheats: 1956 D, 1944, 1942, 1939 and 1937. I also found an odd dime that may be melted around the edge. Its hard to explain but Ill get it checked out with the other coins at my LCS when I get the chance.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12/17/2014

6 hand wrapped rolls of cents: 1 wheat, 1942.

4 MWR loomis of cents: 2 wheats, both 1956 D.

Lookout finds: A 1941 wheat from my father, and from my girlfriend (who is somewhat interested in coins and is learning more all the time since her dad collects as well but does not roll hunt) a 52' Silver Washington! :notworthy: She found it in her register the day prior and said she heard the distinctive sound when she dumped out the roll of Quarters she opened. Great find on her part. Told her I was proud many times heheheh.

And as always, I wish the best of luck to everyone else. With no job, the finds have been very low and I cant get boxes of any kind. Ill be doing cents soon though. And then work my way up as I save all my money. I may have a job soon as I do believe the interview I had today went well. Regardless, Ill try and update more often. Its been over 2 months since I updated my log because of a lack of a computer at home.

12/18/2014

Today I visited my friend at work. He knows I collect and casually looks out for me. Hes given me wheats before but doesn't look too hard as I said. Today he mentioned theres a wheat in his register but he didn't have the cent to swap it out. Neither did I. So I went on an expedition around the store looking for a cent on the floor. Luckily I found a dime, and swapped it for a nickel, 4 regular cents, and that 1944 wheat heheheh. At this point, Its too obviously an addiction.

A buddy of mine texted me a few days prior mentioning how his father gave him "83 pounds of change". He knows I collect of course and this excited me very much. On this day I managed to finally get around to his house. After 2 hours and 45 minutes or so, including breaks, me and him went through a bucket of coins that indeed felt like 83 pounds or at least close to it. Mixed denominations of course. This was apparently his fathers pocket change from the last 10 or so years. Aside from washers, lint, odd foreign (but not old) coins, and tokens of many different kinds, in grand total I found and kept 32 wheats, of which 3 were "pre 1940". Those dates are 1936, 1929, and 1927. 2 pure nickel Canadian nickels from 1977 and 1975, 6 Canadian cents, 2 being centennial, and the 4 "pre 60" Canadian cents with dates of 1956, 1945, and two 1944s. 1 Rosie being a 1948 S and a 10 cent Bahamas coin with a very oddly shaped edge from the year 2000. After all this, he had a small jar of coins in his room that I searched because yknow, why not? And in that bit I found 2 wheats, a 1956 D and a 1954 D. My back was killing me after all this but... FOR COINS. :icon_thumleft:

String box of nickels: 4 War nickels :laughing7: with dates of 1942 S, two 1943 P's, and a 1945 S I needed for the set of them Im making. And also, a 1950 D!:occasion14: The thing is, I don't even date check. I just flip them over and look for Wars and buffalos but I JUST HAPPENED to pick this one up and check the date. I saw 1950, and then checked the back and sure enough a D. I was quite surprised. Very good box, and previous to this Its been months since Ive searched a box of nicks. Luck was on my side.

2nd String box of nickels: This box had an oddly high number of MS condition 2005 P and D mint nickels. I saved most of the Bison ones for checking after I was done but none had the spear error. Otherwise, twas a skunk.

Today after the events of new years, I went back to my "ex bosses" house that I mentioned in my last post and researched the coins I did last time, plus some more since all the pocket change from them goes to the same place and I felt like rechecking it. I found 1 wheat, a 1948.

And may 2015 bring all of you very good luck. Heres to a great year of CRH! :notworthy:

Also managed a 1972 Canadian Nickel from my dads car that he said he got in the reject tray while dumping his small amount of pocket change that he does every few weeks.

2/11/2015

String box of cents: 1948 Reverse ender, 21 wheats total. Of those there were two 'pre 1940'; a 1935 S and a 1910 S. Value of the 1910 S in G-4 condition is $17. I was thrilled. The box
also contained a 1947 King george Canadian cent.

2nd string box of cents: 18 wheats total, with 3 'pre 1940'. The dates on those are 1939 D, 1939 and a 1920. There may have also been a blank planchet cent, but I cant tell if Its very scraped up or
a blank planchet. Ive found one blank planchet cent before that I know is one but that was in a Brinks box.

15 string rolls of nickels: Nothing, one roll was solid 2014 P.

$1.50 loose halves from a different bank than the one I picked up at today, clad.

3/3/2015

6 hand wrapped rolls of nickels: 1980 pure nickel Canadian.

9 String rolls of nickels: 6 buffalos, all in one roll! I couldnt believe it. One lone roll amongst the 9 searched. Part of a collection dump for sure. Being in a machine wrapped string roll is even more weird. The dates are; 1937, 1936, 1930, 1929 S, 1926 D and 1924.

Penny arcade reject tray: 2 clad quarters and 3 zincolns.

Today I went to my LCS and sold 1500 common date wheat cents for $30. I sorted them the night prior and took anything 1939 and older out for myself to keep. Was dumping today and every so often I would get a reject that I knew wasnt mine. After a few Canadian quarters I was positive they werent mine, and once a $1 "gold" coin came out, I made a plan. After dumping I informed one of the tellers I think I may have clogged up the reject tray with foreign coins I accidently dumped. She opened the machine and free money was to be had for me this day. In total from rejects I know werent mine, I got; A 5 cent euro, a helvetica "10" coin from 1978, 3 clad dimes, 2 copper lincoln cents, a clad quarter with glue on it, 11 Canadian quarters (oldest 1974), and the prior mentioned $1 "gold" coin.
