Detector(s) used
Minelab X-Terra 50 and Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505
Just ran outside at the house to check my front yard, have been at the school all day and made about 2$ in new quarters and dimes.
found this by the old steps to our house (used to have a porch, tore it down when we moved in in 1989, it was a child hazard)
I don't care if it is real or not, the wife actually thinks my metal detector is a GOOD thing now!!! (I gave the ring to her ;D)..
GOD THIS IS COOL!!!!!!
Clint

P.S. I just washed this thing off and dried it before I took the pictures, it didn't corrode or anything, but even if it is plated, I won't tell the wife, she thought it was great!!!

Clint, again

Beautiful ring - it would make me happy if my husband found and gave me a ring like that too. Great find.

You'll have to try, to know it, I ain't got no wife so I don't know.. :P

Man, that's a great find and ring. And if it was down a few inches, it's not corroded, and it's stamped 18k inside that's good.

I/We really cant see anything in those pictures. Your ring is worthy of a few clear shot for the record. HHCould you post a MARCO mode close up of the settings and 18k mark?

I can't help think about Ron White (the comedian on Jeff Foxworthy's show) when he was talking about giving your wife a diamond and the DeBeer's commercial where they say, "A diamond...leave her speechless..." He said why don't they just say it, "A diamond.........., that'll shut her up!" That's a nice ring, I don't share the ring stories with my wife, 'cause I haven't found her one yet. I found a really nice heavy silver chain my second day out with my old Bounty Hunter and she didn't have any trouble latching on to that. It's pretty cool though, because she tells everybody "look what my husband found me with his metal detector!" That's worth something right there...

Just goes to show....BH can be a very good machine for the money.

Thank you for sharing.

Great find right under your feet. Gotta love that! I agree 18k mark is usually quality. Congrats.

Thanks everybody!!!
My old camera either doesn't have a macro mode, or any other mode as far as I know, I need to get another one for a better shot.
I got a new pair of glasses today!!!, and between it and a magnifying glass (bought that too, today) I found out I goofed, it has 10K stamped inside and a mark TRC next to it.
The wife is still happy, cause she thinks its pretty, and it's still a cool ring.
The NEXT one I find will be 22K with BIG diamonds, and I won't tell her about it, I'll sell it and buy 2 different detectors to see which one I like best.
Oh, yeah, I was reading one of the posts about ya'll helping someone find their wedding band.
A friend of mines grandma lost her wedding ring in her yard, he said if I could find it, I would have free access to hunt their land, it's a really old homestead from the early 1800s......That sounds like the place I need to be..
Thanks again for all the help.
The wife wants to go to Wally World, gotta go

That's a really nice find. Congratulations. It would be neat if you could find the owner. Not for your wife, but for the owner. Again really neat find.

Monkeyboy, you're killing me! A ring is always nice to find. A 10k ring is somewhat common. Glad you got the new specks and the magnifying glass, hopefully you won't be misreading the markings again. You had us going for awhile...... ;D

Happy that your wife still likes it. She's a keeper.

WTG!!. That was a nice find. A happy wife is a happy home....ha!

I found a work colleagues Wedding ring the day before his anniversary, he was panicking. I said I would find it in his garden in 30 seconds, it took more like 10 seconds. He was a happy bunny. He forced me to take £10, didn't really want it but a nice thought.

Found other peoples rings as well but never mine :'(

Good luck with your hunt. ;D
