Work might be crap but I found a Sceat.:occasion14:

We only had a short two hour evening hunt on this field, so I changed up the tactics & started gridding the top end of the field & we will come back to the other finish point later - it work out great! We have now gridded close to 6 acres to get this coin & it's been 3 years since our last Sceat.

2 Roman Coins (Not pictured yet)
Tudor Button
James I Coin Weight
18th C double sided swivel Seal Matrix
Cira 700AD Series E (G1) Sceat - 36th one recorded.:headbang:

This April will be impossible to repeat! (ie best Apr on record by far)

Woohoo! Porcupine Sceat! Big congrats! :hello2:
We think it was kicked up by one of the trenches. I had kind of given up hope, but we were finding so much stuff it was odd that a field that had produced 5 couldn't spit out another.

pretty awesome stuff to an old Arky, congrats:headbang:

Unreal! Beautiful piece of A/S history. You seem to outdo yourself every year Cru

Amazing finds ! The Sceat is incredible , I love the Tudor button too ! What are the silver bits in the first pic ?

On your "Day 3" post, my comment was that "I hope to see you posting a Sceat soon". Thanks for delivering haha!

Incredible find, congratulations. Time to see a Sceat on the banner methinks...

Always great finds. Amazing. The coin weight reminds me to ask you about another early square one my wife just found. Think its for a gold ryal. Will post it up in the what is it section.

Really like that seal matrix.

Already had it recorded, the Museum has an excellent response time. It's the 36th one recorded of it's type which actually makes it well represented. Not common, but not very rare in Sceat terms either.

Add a link when done.

That is a great looking Sceat. Congratulations on pulling one out of the field.

First of all Crusader, these are amazing. Just stellar.:occasion14:
Are you an archaeologist?
Is this your job to find these OR is this just a hobby?
Your portfolio matches our Smithsonian museum.

It's my hobby.

But its turned into my obsession, which has rubbed off on Cru'Dad.
I work closely with Archies because they need my help. Its the right thing to do, spread the knowledge.

Great finds as per usual Cru! :occasion14:

I like this Tudor Button and this 18th C swivel Seal Matrix.

Best of luck to you and your Dad this year,
Dave
