After a couple years, I noticed my Ace 250 coil was chipped away and cracked all over. There was dirt and sand inside the coil but it worked perfectly fine! I just cleaned out the inside and electrical-taped the entire damn coil, and then I ordered a coil cover for it. I really don't think mine cracked from being in the car, I think it was from hitting the sides of the tot lots and tree stumps. Maybe it could have cracked from being bashed around in the trunk, but I doubt the heat or cold would cause it to crack.

I'm headed to southern Illinois/St. Louis tomorow until sunday. I'm bringing the detectors but don't plan on detecting. The weekend after, I'm having a garage sale, so I'll be on a definate indefinate hiatus for a while. Good luck with all of your hunts, TF, Bomber, Goio, LowBatts, Murf, etc.....
