It's been cool here in Florida. Actually cold to me, but seeing all the pictures of snow on here from up north I won't complain. The more rockets they shoot up it seems the more we get lousy weather. Now Besos & Musk are in a pissing match for sending up their rockets. Elon had one fail over the Caribbean yesterday & it was a sight. He just kind of blew it off but the Islanders were not impressed. Things are blooming here but next week is supposed to be cold. My mango trees are loaded with blooms almost in flower. I hope they don't freeze.

We were watching it live, the rocket not the giraffe, then suddenly the feed was cut. Later saw it blew up.
You'd think there was bad stuff raining down with the debris wouldn't you!?

I like me some mangoes

Great place! A bit nippy in the winter though....

A couple more were lost in the last few days. My dad taught me about these ****ers when I was a kid beach combing, we found a LOT of big Japanese glass floats.

Pay attention! I'm talkin' to you... terrorists...I mean tourists... :laughing7: :laughing7:

sneaker waves.jpg

Offshore storms: Storms create wind energy that transfers to the ocean surface.
Long periods between swells: When there's a long period between swells, the waves can build up more force.
Infragravity waves: Longer waves called "infragravity" waves are created by the energy of the surface gravity waves.
Where they occur
Sneaker waves are more common along the Pacific coast.
They are more likely to occur during the winter.
How they are dangerous
Sneaker waves can sweep people off their feet or pin them against rocks and dunes.
They can break over rocks and lift logs or driftwood onto the beach.
The combination of waves and cool water temperatures can make hypothermia a risk.
How to stay safe
Watch the waves from a lookout before going to the beach.
Count the seconds between each wave breaking.
Avoid areas where you could be trapped by rushing water.
Don't turn your back on the ocean.
Have an exit plan to get to higher ground in 15 to 30 seconds.

Yeah same here rock fishing. Watch the waves for a while and count them between the bigger ones and a pattern shows, you'd get so much time fishing counting the waves then get back for the bigger one to roll in, then repeat. Every second week here on the news is someone washed off a rock fishing, them clueless to wave counting. Unfortunately 50% end up dead.
They never wear PFDs. Stupid, you can get bum bag ones now that don't get in your way.

I stay up high enough and use heavy line... I want to catch the fish, not play with it! Most of the time we use a boat!
