I'm going with Wagon wheel rim.
If it were a metal spoked wheel then there would be a consistent hole pattern for the long bolt spokes all the way around the rim.
Here's an idea they were barrel stays for a pirate's rum keg.

I have one rim I found and one hay dump unit. I will have to have a look one day.
A band for a wooden wheel?

Supposed to be heated to expand then fit on the wheel to contract and be held secure.
Otherwise fasteners wear off and the band is loose again.
Yes a loose band that fit right prior could get fasteners put through it in a repair attempt.
Why spaced unevenly is another matter. Lo..l..

If it's an outer wheel band for a wooden wheel it's an oldie regardless.

I got it all figured out now.
The northern original pirates.

I listened to a thing on Vikings a few weeks ago. They looked nothing like we are led to believe. It was quite eye, ear opening really. They actually became a very religious and peaceful people in the end. Was very interesting.

I think a large percentage of what we were taught to believe about history is BS. Many historians have agendas they tend to stick to no matter the facts. Money, peer pressure, & political correctness all play a part.

I like it except for helmets with horns. That wasn’t a Viking thing. In fact, metal Viking era helmets from Scandinavia are almost non existent. They have only one in a museum in Denmark. They probably had leather headgear.
Hi yeah. I heard a thing on it all the other week. It was very very different from the myths we are told today. One expert said that a horned helmet would have been the worst thing to wear into battle as a heavy blow catching a horn which would have been easy to do would be likely to cause serious neck damage from the head twisting. Yes the one that exists was ceremonial.

Hi. Yeah another one is the way the english are portrayed in movies back in mediaeval times, with the villagers all sickly with rotten teeth. They reckon they had wonderful teeth in fact, as their diet unlike ours didn't create dental decay. Iv heard some amazing things debunking so much stuff. The general public is hugely misled.

Schooling time for the pirates.
Fitting the steel tires on the wagon wheel.

Here are 2 rings I found on mom’s property I believe to be barrel stays. Not sure with the hole pattern, and they are large?
Definitely old tires. Holes for rivets as a repair I'm thinking.
Anyone else suffer from Tinnitus, and have you found something to help treat it? Ugh... getting worse as I get older and winter days seem more prominent.
Nasty stuff, and just keeps getting worse.
I'm sure racing motorcycles and playing guitar and drums in rock bands probably didn't help.
Now, at 65, it sounds like a jet engine on bad days and a flock of chirping birds on good days.

Well sorry for you as well MX Rat, I feel your pain. Probably resulting from your issue and every one elses possible cause. Being motorcycles from birth to running loud equipment all the way into today's life. I'm working on a cure BTW. Alcohol is only a temporary relief :icon_scratch:

Have you ever done a ancestry test Vike? Your not British are you? :laughing7:
Grandparents on moms side were indentured servants from Ireland. Pittsburgh steel mill family were very nice to them.
My dad's side had some Brits. Rhodes Scholars that traced us back to the 1100's. Actually not much Viking but a little. British, welsh, Scotish and Irish on that side too! Calling myself "Oregon Irish " didn't have the same ring!:laughing7:
