Because it is NOT 18k... but "Gold Filled 18k" at best... OR just plated.

One....... that clasp..... it is and always has been... indicative of "cheaper" jewelry.

No jeweler has ever used those forms of clasps on anything made of any precious metal.

But ARC he said he cut a link off and it was 18K in the middle. :laughing7: :laughing7:

I will say he hit the nail on the head saying gas station chains.

I have seen it. That would be a fake they were popular in the 90s. I bought a 14k necklace once from a guy thinking I was getting a deal then it turned green. It was stamped and everything just like a real one. They made fake silver coins to. I bought one of them to. Got me twice

I bought a Hamilton wrist watch off a guy in Vancouver 45+ yrs ago.
Showed to my Brother-in-law that was a watch collector.
He :laughing7: and said nice "Hanilton watch"

While buying silver in Bali Indonesia in 1992 we were at the wholesaler/manufacture place, and this guy picks up a couple of Kilos of silver chain.
Opens the bags, checks a few chains, pays and leaves.

The owner just shook his head, and stated that the guy flies back to Italy-where they stamp them " Made in Italy"
But we make them all here and get no credit for that.
It was the beginning of off shore manufacturing it seemed.

Whow there RC.
Me'z not wanting that report.
Mother nature will shovel it I hope.
Up to several inches today.
A second event will be on the move West to East in time , but not sure if it'll be here directly or North or South..

This station is South of me. Often 3-5 degrees warmer in cold spells as it's a valley area. And South . l.o.l.. Or the wind can change and reverse things.

Guy named Gabby in a band in that area years ago wore a pin that read , "weather ball black nuclear attack."
New sponsors salvages/repaired the weather ball after it fell into disuse again .
No ,not my number one or two station . l.o.l.. They do have a weather man from my youth still though! (Not pictured.)
