The Constitution?

Mr.Washington.....".I keep thinking we should include something in the Constitution in case the people elect a freaking Moron" :laughing7:

I think that's a given in every election don't you think? Actually jimmy carter was probably our most intelligent prez - nuclear engineers I believe - yet will prob go down as one of the worst. And lets just call the spade the spade when it comes to bush 2. If it wasn't for his family money he prob couldn't have graduated high school.

In certain cases its morons electing morons.Maybe the new law could have a kind of a crap rolling down hill effect.

Just imagine how disgusted how the founders would be if they could see Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and Feinstein! :BangHead:

I believe they would move back to England:laughing9:

I am sure they would have really elaborated on the native born requirement for president!

When you have the likes of bush and palin do you really want to start naming names?!?!

What was wrong with Palin?

Once upon a time in America, you had to own property to vote, if you didn't you might not have the best interests of liberty at heart.

You might even try to vote for government largess. This group might also request a larger, more powerful government to confiscate and redistribute wealth.

Alas, the law was overturned and America was set on a new course. By the way, this particular law was separate from race and gender but was lumped into that mix. Making it unpalatable.

Aren't many if you the same that complain that money and wealth rule the country?? This is what the land law created. You obviously have forgotten your history as you would know that the founding fathers were the same overly educated wealthy liberal elites that so many of you despise today.

I have no problem if we want to restrict the vote to the top 1 percent earnings but I would also argue that it is prob NOT the right thing to do for a variety of reasons. Of course one might argue that with campaign finance reform the top 1 percent pretty much control the vote anyways??

So our supposed pro constitution, pro rights, etc, etc folks now want to take the vote away from American citizens?? The fifth amendment is bad, some citizens shouldn't be allowed to vote, what's next from our supposed "patriots"???

Should the truth come at the cost of sacrificing and denying the rights of American citizens? Take away their fifth, take away the right to vote if they disagree?? I thought you pro gun folks were all about rights trumping everything else??

Picker, I never have said take anyone's rights away. I have said she might have forfeited her 5th amendment right. I have also said she needs to be charged. We are treating these people from the irs with kid gloves, even though the irs violates American's rights regularly.

Isn't there the right of the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven??

Now don't get me wrong I think the IRS is as guilty as sin and it goes up a lot higher than a couple of rouges in Cincinnati. But I also believe in the process of law - for better or worse. I don't always agree with that process mind you - I'm a big fan of summary execution but I can always get what I want.

I fully agree it goes much higher. Don't you thinly these people should be charged? They have already lied under oath...

Diesel, problem is the "law" is a lot more tricky/complicated/complex than most us us (unless we are involved in the legal system) can understand. Hopefully we can all be honest and admit we certainly do not know all the facts of the case. I think we can admit that what we do know are biased (on either side) tidbits of information given with an agenda/conclusion already in mind. I also believe that republicans / conservative will expend millions of dollars and man hours to turn over every single rock possible which I view as a good thing so we can get to the bottom of what has happened. I think given this the issue is unlikely to be forgotten or buried.

I am operating under these assumptions and basically reserving judgment of crime etc until we hear more complete account. Could go all the way up to the big O like Iran:contra or could just look very very bad but not actually be "criminal" in a technical legal sense (what the IRS actually did with the targeting - not the lying etc etc). Or could be something in between. I just don't know enough (I don't think any of us do) to make that call right now.

Actually, we elect people to congress, and most of em are lawyers, that have no idea about the law!!!!!!

and, we have people who make sure they get their free stuff, by electing people who promise them even more free stuff........

what do you get free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
