💵 FOR SALE The Original DETECTING BUDDY - detecting harness fits Minelab Whites Garrett Fisher

Funny...
Made in....planet Earth.
There are manufactured parts and then it's assembled somewhere.
Does it really matter?

Hi Sovereign - did you try making the black connector strap shorter by "scrunching up" the cushiony section (with the logo) to where it meets the arm loop, then adjusting the strap to a spot that works and then working the cushiony section over the adjuster clip to straighten it back out? If that doesn't work you can try to "tie off" a section of the connector strap with a loop in it...or if all else fails have your lovely lady cut and sew the connector strap shorter for you...
I'm sorry - we compromised on a one size to fit most if not all....

Yes The loop is too big for me, the only way I can get it too keep the detector off the ground to any reasonable degree is with attaching stap as short as I can possibly get it, and then I have to use my non detecting hand to push the loop towards the ground to have enough tension to lift the detector, I could put another strap from the shoulder loop to my belt, which would probably work BTW I am about 5'7" and have a Minelab Elite which is a bit heavy. If I wear everything correctly with shortest setting my detector almost sits completely on the ground.

Thank you for the honest and informative review. We stand behind the product. Keep us posted.

I received my Detecting Buddy today, and my first impressions...

Order handled PROMPTLY and professionally, received within 2 business days of mailing payment.

Workmanship...fit & finish are very good, this item does NOT look like someones garage project.

Adjustment & use... Easy and benefit noticed within seconds of use. I'm 5' 8" and did have to adjust "all the way" to work properly. (strap could easily be shortened more by adding another buckle, sewing a fold, or knotting, and bungee could easily be shortened in several ways also)

Materials...probably adequate for beach and park swingers in most environments. Just thinking aloud here, I do have some concern about the longevity of both the plastic clip and the "pleather" padding during winter(below freezing) hunting in the woods. Plastics, cold temps and pointy sticks don't always play nicely together. We'll see, hopefully these small concerns are unfounded.

Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase at this point...and look forward to running it through its paces in the coming months.

Thanks!

I have not tried that yet as I was thinking I had the strap as short as it could go. I can make it work. I still like the simplicity of it and the fact that it is easy quick to takeoff if need be. I can couple this with the new wireless headphones I'm ordering to make for less tangles with cords which with not having to hipmount I will have no cords connected to my body. As for my lovely lady I don't know that her sewing skills are that good or not...maybe.:icon_scratch:

the problems I have with the "other one" in your vid is

even with the cord lengthened it is in the way at times when digging,
the part over the shoulder looks more comfortable on yours.
if it doesn't slide off at times like the S_Thingy ? ???
& I still get back pain from use of mine.

and the big problem I can swing left, but the cord holds back when I try to swing way right

I'd be curious if your version helps this so I could make wider swings both ways.

I do use the s_thingy the way it's used in your Vid, any other way and the strap falls off my shoulder every time I get down to dig.

which can be Very irritating.

But like Treasure Hunter, I can't hunt without one.

When I forget it at home I grab a Bungie out my vehicle & Hook it to my belt
for at least some lift, but then my swing width shortens drastically.

Perhaps one day I'll try yours

Hello Jeff,
We designed the harness to act just like your swinging arm. In fact, it lies straight down alongside your swinging arm when not in motion, as opposed to the "other one" which I personally used each and every time when detecting with my E-Trac. I experienced exactly the same issues that you recite above, plus attaching it for use each time was always difficult...for me...
That being said we believe that the Detecting Buddy will allow full range of motion while facilitating your ability to dig and get back to swinging quickly and effortlessly.

yea I Never actually detach it to dig (well almost Never)
but when it gets to feel a bit restrictive after awhile,
I'll detach lay everything down A take a break & let my mind heal :laughing7:

Just bought one. I'll give some feedback after I've tried it.

To be clear...I would classify these circumstances as closer to "extreme" than "normal". I'll be hanging out with my new buddy quite a bit this weekend and will let you know if it has the makings of a true bromance or not.

Hello Barry !

I'll let you know how it works out
once I get a good day to get out

Thanks again !
Jeff

I got mine several days ago. It seems to be well made, it's easy to put on and it definitely lightens the load. Everything you advertised, it does and the price is right. I haven't used any other brands, but I find no fault with your product. Thanks!

Thanks!

I'm gonna have to modify a quick disconnect. With the strap adjusted to max position, my detector won't reach the ground when I kneel down

You are very welcome.

We made some minor but effective adjustments to the clip/bungee section (for the strap attachment) and as soon as we received the new version we replaced it for every person that had already bought one.

Although it was a pretty big expense to send that out to everyone, we believe a company is only as good as it's customer service....

Thanks for the new strap attachment!
