Does the old school still stand? Id love to know where it is. 1850s is a long way back.

Hey Old Pueblo, The school has been rebuilt at least twice due to fire on the existing property. It is still a functioning sschool to this day. I have been there several times in the past and only detected the front where most probably have and it was evident. I plan on going to the site early in the morning and spending some time there. I will update if I find anything cool! Thanks for your post.

That is sharp IH! I would love to pull one that nice! HH

Hey thanks a lot I did a happy dance finding it! It is only my second Indian head so I would've been stoked if it was not in great condition! Thanks for your post

Thank you, I was just wondering, because Ive been up to Oregon a few times and 1850s is very early on in the state's history.

Wow! Grab yourself an "S" mint Indian in that condition and you've made some nice $!! Congrats on a beautiful find!

Definitely is early in the states history considering a majority of the people came because of the gold rush in1850's. But there are definitely older sites not going back before 1830's/ 1840s much though except for native Indians that were already here. That's the good thing about all you East Coast guys and gals the further east you go older history gets.

Thanks Jeff! Looks like someone just dropped it yesterday! I could tell even with the dirt on it, it was in great shape. Thanks for posting happy hunting

You are certainly right about that. All the time I wish I lived east of the Mississippi! Some lucky guys back there.
