Two days ago I went out scouting in some fields adjacent to a couple old homesites we found earlier this spring. BINGO, a couple hundred yards back.... pottery,,, brick,,, glass :headbang:

We decided to give it a go yesterday and Josh ended up with a couple killer finds and I'm happy that he found them. He was digging in a little area that had a pocket of trash and it paid off huge for him. Way to go man :hello2: :hello2: His post should be up soon, but one of the top 3 finds of our group this year

I'll start out with a couple really toasty coppers... the fields out this way are very harsh :D

Here's an 1809 Classic Head Half Cent (a real shame to see them come out this way)

Here's a few military buttons from a short hunt on Monday
-1830's 2pc Eagle A
-1820's US Greatcoat Army
-1812 Artillery

Unknown Brass items (left appears to be some kind of horse rig, right appears to be a gun piece)

Thanks Shaun :icon_thumleft: , actually I didn't do any research on this site.. just corn fields on an old road, fourth house site we've located on about 200 acres.

The unidentified piece to the right in the photo is one half of a folding spur. I dug a whole one and it's side pieces looks just like that.

Nice relics!

Awesome digs brother ,you are going to miss all that history when you go up north.

Love them buttons great scouting and hunting!

Nice digs Jeff, me likes the buttons. I'm still waiting for some rain here, can't even get a shovel in the ground here right now. I've never seen it this bad. I have a dozen or so sites lined up and can't dig any of them. :(
