Sweet! I'm looking forward to more details.

It would be nice to see two mid-range PIs in the market. The ATX is creating quite a stir. If Minelab can actually make this one waterproof and lighter than the ATX (and maybe a real battery?) they might finally have a contender in the mid range market.

It's going to be an interesting year either way. Thanks for sharing this Steve.
 

Here it is except this is the F3 compact version and new one will be blue colored looks like, This I'm sure, will be what the finished version looks like save the color, plus I'm sure the electronics are different inside...This one here is 5.5 lbs, lighter than the ATX by a pound or so...

I don't think a $3500 to $5000 detector is mid range.
