whites classic 5 id, and bounty hunter.
Me and me " father" yes my father, went out today to magic island. Off the border of the Kanawa river close to Charleston.
My father was using a Bounty Hunter, even in our time some of the cheapest things can be the greatest of treasures.

Anyhow I'm writing this post today to most of the people who really read my posts. We found three quarters, two Penny's,and two dimes i think, mother dropped the other when we got home. Have to look under the coach, maybe ill find more. :laughing7:

Oldest we found was a 1965 quarter my dad found. Ow yeah did i mention the lock? No, well ill tell you, i was walking along we were leaving i pushed my MD in front of me, Supprised to get a dollar signal. It was very deep indeed but i kept at it, my father was saying ow god another can. No it was a lock with no key.

Time spent with your father is always well spent time, but time spent with your father with a metal detector in hand...priceless!!!!

Keep searching for that Civil War candy! :headbang:

Any day out with Dad is a good day, glad to hear you even found some coins.

Hey Civil war hunter. Sounds like you are getting your Dad into the hobby? Keep after him and keep finding that treasure. I wish when I was your age I had a metal detector. Way to go after that lock too!

My favorite part was that there was no hollering or beatings. It made the tale heartwarming.

Having grown up in the good ol' W ya V ee, I'd have to say hollerin' and gettin a thumpin was part of any outing with Pa. It becomes redundant for the old Mountaineers to state it constantly. Example;" I got in my car, put the key into the ignition and turned on the car. After the car started I proceeded to drive to Auntie/Cousin Sara's' trailer where a shin dig was in full swing."

In short, one could easily state they got into the car and drove to the trailer. Without giving all the mechanical details. So, if a feller from WV spent time with Pa, he got "learnt" a little more about Pa's jab and maybe rabbit punch. Twas only the rabbit punch and maybe a little white lightning that would warm the tuckered heart of a West Virginian.
I hope any water from the Kanawah river you came in contact was removed by a HAZMAT team.
Please enjoy your finds and keep weighing the risks of that day-glo river. You too may become a frankendeer if you come in contact with the water of the Kanawah frequently enough.
Enjoy July!
