I have had permission to detect the neighbor's yard for quite a few years now, but never got around to it until earlier this year. I was in my garage packing my gear to go out when he walked by with his dog and reminded me that I could hunt his yard. I figured why not, it's an older house with a big yard, should at least be a few silver coins....

Last night was my 5th visit since January. I have now recovered about 120 coins including 6 silvers, gold and silver jewelry and other misc. items.

Here are last night's silvers - 1943-P nickel and 1950-S quarter

In a trashy area of the yard where there may have ben a burn pit, I got a signal and pulled out the guts of a pocket watch. I checked with my pin pointer looking for the case, but instead found these two tokens. One is a Pittsburgh Railways trolley token, but its the first of this type I've found. Usually we find the ones dated 1922 with the triangle hole in them. This is probably a later version. The other token just has a 10 in a diamond and is smooth on the back.

Here is most of what I dug in 2.5 hours last night.

I'm sure there are still a couple silver coins waiting for me...

The finds are pretty common, mainly 20th century coins. I'm thinking more like a bottle of wine or a $50 variety pack from Omaha Steaks
Why not both? I believe you might be surprised at how much a nicely done display would be appreciated. Especially for someone who's lived there all their life. Doesn't have to be rare finds. Ask around, of people who have made these for people. Just a thought.

I've given several displays to property owners in the past.

Well....congratulations, I guess. :dontknow:

I was just suggesting because you mentioned the idea of giving back something.

Good job again.
