hey hey pete
thanks for the nice words and image

the bead is made from a chalky material called scoria here in ND......another name for it is called clinker.......
......it is a result of burnt coal called lignite here in ND.......
...after the scoria gets a million or two years older i believe it turns into a hard white material called porcellanite
....it is used for making bricks and surfacing roads here
i think you have two beads on the left and....the two on the rightlook like natural rocks to me

once again, thanks friend

Thanks there Buddy,
Yea all my finds come from large bodies of water so wear is always a problem they take a beating & seems how most the time the wind needs to be blowing a gale to take out the tide so do I just getting to these sites.:laughing7:

Steve
It looks like that field laid down well. I would hunt it then you might need to turn it once more for good luck !

Super nice finds! I really like the little knife that is on the right, in the second photo. But of course that hook is an awesome find! Must have been made for that BIG catfish.

nice finds congrats HH i havnt had much luck so far this year

it is unfortunate but with all the rainthat washed it so good a bunch of weeds are on the way and it will have to be flipped many more times this year

yup i like it also....john found it (it is broke on the top end)

Great stuff Steve... that is part of a giant fish hook? I will be looking for your fishhook frame thread. Wow!

yup it is part of a giant hook and i am thinking it was for giant channel catfish
before the dams were built herewwe had huge pallid sturgeon 5-6 feet long...i saw some when i was young
i will try to find the fish hook thing

IMG_2864.jpg note the hook on the right was broke and then had some notches carved on the short stem so it could be re-used

Those fish hooks are amazing Steve. I bet you have to bring a bucket to put all of your finds in. I know I have been using one when I hunt lately just dont have that many pockets. Great pics

that is some dark dirt there larson sir, thanks for the look and i like that long gray point or blade in the second picture.

yup it is a knife blade made to lay hafted sideways into a grooved buffalo rib handle

my fav is the jaw notch arrow point in the 3rd image
they are both made from TRSS (gray chert)
