Only spent a few hours swingin, but did find a small yellow ring.
Can't quite read it... maybe it says 14J on it... can't quite tell.
Maybe I should trade it off for one of those jeweler loupe thingy's so I can see better.

I loveeeeeeeeeeeee that ring... and I too, think its gold...is it a initial ring...or is that just a design on it... blindfool here... lemme know the curosity is killing me..
Congrats on the ring there rmptr wtg I just got a 10X loupe at a big outdoor flea market in NJ, pretty good one too, it was only 5 bucks. It is a great tool for id'ing finds and I can put it up to the lens on my digital camera and take good shots like this. Good Luck!

I'm betting the ring is gold too! I'm going to get me one of those loupes too. Not that I am finding any jewelry but am hoping I'll be able to date coins better. Glad you got out.
Harbor Freight sells a Set of loops (5) from 10,7,5,3,and 2X for $1.99
I keep the 10X and 5X on the desk and the 7 X in my hunting bag for when I can't wait to see what it says in the field.
Got a 2nd set for when the 1st gets lost---total cost for all 10 was $3.98 + tax.
It's probably been my best find this year. Whew! it's been very slo for me....
VERY dependent upon the crowds when you are a surface miner!
I hope to head to the beach, soon.
Here's a better shot... Sry, 'tis not an initial ring. It's the Virgin Mother.
Anyone care to advise the best way to straighten the ring?
Should it be heated, or can I just tap on it over a hardwood mandrel?
Any web sources of info on jewelry repair?
That's a beautiful ring. I sometimes put rings over a magic marker tube or a sharpie and tap on the ring with a small piece of wood. Sometimes with thin rings I just straighten them by hand. Congrats on the great find!
