Ok...Jeep is "semi" fixed after the entanglement with the doe ...Cherokee 2 - Buck & Doe 0

I decided to hunt the V farm a few hours and try a few areas for 1 of the forts I've researched...long story short I found absolutley nothing :angry7: Hunted several spots I thought for sure but came up empty :dontknow: :sad11:

I guess back to the drawing board on this fort and more :icon_study: :read2:

Discouraged I felt the last 2 hours I had I'd spend in the G.W. field since I found the Woods Hibernia the other evening
Glad I made that choice !

Good targets are slim now ( untill next plowing season ) and I was simply enjoying the evening breeze working the grid slowly...

Afterabout 1 hour into hunting I had dug 3 rotted pewter buttons and some junk lead and thought I aint leaving untill I have at least 1 good relic.

Well thank the LORD above my next target was a USA ( coat ? ) button and in not to bad a shape !! YAY !! Not as good as the first one I dug there but the letters are plainly visible and theres only a little bit of the bottom of the button eaten away.

So far the tally is 2 USA's , 1 Ny Continental army button , and the GW inaugural from this field. Not to meantion all the common buttons , coins , a cannonball , colonial hatchett , and tons of other relics ! I cant wait for next spring

I also dug 1 last pewter button before leaving and there was at one time something on the face of this button but its so eaten away its dang near impossible to make it out but I'm adding the photo

Good Luck To Everyone :occasion14:

Derek

Nice button in great shape. I know how hard they are to find in that condition (not the USA type of course), but the similar time period militia buttons

Gotta love sites like that! 4 pewter buttons and some lead is well worth a trip back asap. I've spent many hunts on my best little Rev site digging nothing more than a tiny piece of nothing, even on occasion absolutely nothing. Hunting places like that is easy no matter how quiet it is because the anticipation keeps you going. Great button once again!

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Derek Feller Dude from the Upstate of New York!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Derek the Great, the one and only hunter of a suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper historic dwelling that yielded handfuls of early-American political buttons, military buttons, and anything else related to America's early history, that USA button is simply AMAZING! :headbang: :headbang: :occasion14: You don't see those little buggards being posted a lot, so this should be praised many, many times! :icon_salut:

Even though you didn't find that fort, it can't hide too much longer from your professional sweeps of the White's DFX. :smileinbox: Keep on searching for it, my good buddy!

As always, keep that fever higher than ever, D.!!!!!!!!!! :occasion14: :icon_salut:

Wow, you are finding some great stuff there. I especially like the pewter buttons. Your second button appears to be a Infantry Regiment button from 1798-1802 , the number in the center went from 1 to 16 depending on the regiment. Yours appears to be a single digit number.

Thanks for sharing.
