Per a conversation I had today with Tim Mallory - VP of marketing and sales at Fisher/First Texas - I am apparently “customer zero” for the AQ.

For reasons of copyright protection (which I don’t understand) it was important to sell exactly 1 Fisher Impulse AQ in calendar year 2019. I guess because I am a PITA, I was invited to be it. It had to be a bona fide sale, so I am paying for it - cheerfully. Can’t discuss the price because that may or may not equal the eventual launch price.

I am told it will ship Monday. Since I figured that I was “in the catbird seat” I asked them to include a Fisher cap to replace the one I lost a while back.

My nearest US beach is in San Diego and I have no time to drive there soon. I will be doing an “unboxing” video and some stuff of using it inland here in Gold Canyon AZ - where there is no gold. Imay borrow some of my wife’s “minor” bits to practice with however.

Joe ill take a 4xlt long sleve howboughtit !

I hope the adjustable SAT is going to help harness the Impulse AQ's full potential. At least with the Aquasearch, getting the SAT just right lets you do amazing things.

I can't imagine going down below a pulse delay of 10 in salt water surge, but the Impulse AQ appears to have that potential.

Thanks for the update.

Hi,

yes, recovery speed / SAT
rename ATS on impulse AQ, just to change its name ....

this is one of the most important settings
in reject mode
it conditions the performance of discrimination
ATS too slow = bad rejection of iron

in all metal mode
the reverse / the lower the ATS adjustment
the deeper the detector

the delay knob is 10 notches on AQ
from 7us to 11.5 us jumps from 0.5 to 0.5

it is perfectly stable at 7us on wet sand
in all metals 7us / ATS at the slowest
sensitivity to max
the depth exceeds anything you can imagine

have a good christmas

Would have loved to open one up Christmas morning!
Tide is looking good finally, why they would sell to a person in the desert that cant use it is beyond me,, no offense intended, can I borrow it for a few days?
better yet I have a extra room or I can put you up in a nice hotel if we can play with it, lol.
Please do some testing and let us know if we should mortgage the house and buy one.
Merry Christmas and have a safe New Year!....and to all of our hunting friends here on the forum.

Now that’s some Christmas cheer to get excited about.

SPT - no offense taken. Several reasons why I was picked to be “customer zero” for this. It all goes back about 4 years when I first started tracking faint notices on the web about the Manta.

Here’s a bit of my south Padre Island heritage by the way - family holiday week in 1962 or so

That's back in the good old days when there were less restrictions on life and everything was cheaper, wished I had the knowledge and the modern technology detectors to hunt back in those days.
If you ever decide to vacation down here please feel free to give me a shout. ill buy you dinner! Merry Christmas!

Expected price to range from 2K - 2.5K, similar to CTX. No screen. Iron mask. But very very low 7 usec pulse delay will detect small gold jewelry like no tomorrow. Also expected to go DEEP. If Fisher sends me one in Florida (PM me and I'll send ya my address), I promise to use it every day and report back to Fisher every day of my finds and issues. I promise!!!!!!!!!!!!!

except that this is a brand new technology and tesoro didnt upgrade any tech in the last 20 years.

Oh yeah I know lol. I was just trying to be funny. All the years Tesoro used nobs on there detectors and never really advanced ahead along with other brands and now the latest in tech comes out with all nobs. Lol.

Love it, Head Phones Looks Like GGA ll's different cup color, the fitting for the coil I recognize. Souriau, French made if I remember correct. Used several years ago when making endcaps for the xcal to swap coils. Looks like they changed the face plate from the one's shown earlier in the year. Nice looking machine. I do think a black carbon fiber shaft would have topped the look off for I'm not much for the white, but something that can be changed later. Come on AQ!

The upper appears to be powder coated aluminum and the lower carbon fiber.

no Rick, the top is plastic (cz21)
the rod and the connector of the first version
have been changed / by plastic
electrolysis problem, by pulse radiation
he is so powerful ...:laughing7:

'''so / if in the future you will change the rod
choose fiber / plastic or carbon
but avoiding aluminum / anodizing will not hold ...'''

for the knobs / this type was judged, more interesting
to handle underwater / with gloves
easier to adjust than touch keys
and anyway, they were needed for two of the settings
who cannot yet go digital

Hey Rick, we need to see some finds with depth. I've been interested for awhile now. If possible might even be able to meet you in Northern AZ this spring.

Does this technology work on land or is it only for gold hunting in the water?
