The farm is tickin' me off
Well, it's getting to be snake & tick season here in wonderful NC.
I've been getting a few short hunts in at the farm before it gets too hot here. So far I've had 5 ticks stuck on me, but fortunately no snakes yet. Ridley & I have pounded the grass areas pretty good, so the finds are getting tougher. I found these items right in front of the house in an area we both hit numerous times. I detected the area this time at a 45 degree angle from previous searches, and was surprised how much stuff we missed in this small area. Nothing earth shattering, but I was happy to find the eagle button. There are plenty of woods still to search, but that can wait until winter now.
Today's lunch finds consisted of :
*a nice Eagle button about the size of a quarter. Since the eagles head is facing right, I'm assuming this button was made after 1941? Can anyone ID this button?
*a decorative silver piece stamped "sterling" on it. No idea what it was?
* a marble in the same hole as the sterling piece.
* asst'd buttons, and a brass or copper drawer knob?
*1969 dime. Darn, missed silver by 5 years.
Thanks for looking,
MM
