Saturday mornings are always a time to tend to my Mom's needs.......chores, recycling, errands, etc., acquiring materials for the coming week's work schedule and doing small repair jobs for customers. My last stop took me to the other end of town, so I spent an hour at a housing development that was nearby. It was once a housing facility for soldiers during WW2. Afterwards, I returned to re-grid the 1st of the 2 double house yards I've been searching in the opposite direction...........and was not disappointed. The combined finds.............

All the clad and cars (except the mini) came from the first site.

The Indian was keeping guard over the site holding the keepers which included a Marksman's medal, silver earrings, 6 wheats...........

...........and that 1st Mercury (1937) dime!! That one was among the (reset) goals I had for this year!!

Thanks for lookin' in and good luck on all your hunts!!

Congratulations, nice finds. I found my first merc in my grandfather's yard right beside a Roosevelt silver dime. It was an awesome feeling. Got me hooked. They were my first silvers.

Wow.......two 1sts in the same hole!! Those are certainly a memorable finds..........that is enough to get anyone hooked!! Congratulations to you, too........:icon_thumright:

Thanks, Fred! Yesterday's haul has me primed for another, longer hunt today!!

Thanks, angle........1st finds are sweet and accomplishing a goal with one is even sweeter!!

Nice!! Anytime you get a first find is an awesome day. The marksman medal is really cool too. :occasion14:

Thanks, $stinger.......the marksman medal was a surprise. I looked it up, but there's no mention of the type of metal it contains..........:dontknow:

congrats, I remember my first merc. Now you have to move on to your next "first". Hopefully many more to come.

Thank you, villagenut.........haven't given any thought to the next 1st.......whatever the Good Lord blesses me with. I ended my hunt an hour early yesterday after finding the merc and finishing off that grid strip. I still have a couple of goals to reach before the end of the hunting season and those will require a change of venue...........

Congrats on your first Merc! It doesn't matter whether it's your first or your 300th, any silver coin that pops out of the ground always brings a smile.

John

300th, John?? I can only dream of 300 silver coins in my detecting stack..........thank you!!

Congratualtions on the "bucket list" find! :occasion14:

The Indian toy and Marksman badge are very cool relics.

The marksmanship medal is cool, silver earrings are always great to find and although I do love Mercury Dimes, I think that Toy Indian is the find of the day.
