Joe, I was taking the steroids described by mental granny plus regular injections of cortesone in my back . If that was the cause, looking back on how miserable I was with the allergies and 5 bouts with pneumonia, it was almost worth it. I said almost, but I have been in so much pain for the last year I just don't know. Monty

The reason I was asking is that I was taking Kenalog twice a year for the last 12 or more years. I quit a year and a half ago due to not having any health insurance. I control my allergies now with generic Zyrtec-D, which seems to work ok for me. But when you said steroids for allergies it had me worried. Good luck on your recovery!

I'll do my best to make the hunt since it's only a couple of hours drive from my house to Caldwell. Best I can figure, if everything goes as planned I will be doing my second surgery just about the time of the hunt. I hope I can get in a trip up there, but can't plan for sure yet. I am really getting kup about my surgery as I have talked to so many people who have had the surgery and they say it made all the difference in the world about how much they could do afterward. But my doc said that I might have a hitch in my get-a-long but should be able to walk pain free afterward. I may have to find me a hired digger because I don't knnow how able to get up and down I will be afterward. Good old Jeff's grandson and I became good buddies and maybe I can get him to help out if he can make the trip? I guess I'll just have to wait and see how things go before I can make any surefire plans? Thanks one and all for all the support and comforting words. Monty

WSD, with the serious drought down here in Texas, the ground is absolutely solid rock hard. Plus, the temps have been murder. Darrell (my detecting partner) and I have resorted to MDng at the swimming holes. Some of the lakes and rivers are so dry that you can actually walk across them at spots. So, I hate to think what our Uvalde spots are like right now. Maybe we need to get a certain 2 guys in their tu-tus down here to do a rain dance........eh, BB and ME?

Monty - My mom had both of hips done, ball & socket thing. 11 years apart, 1st one was stainless steel, the 2nd was plastic. She did great...and so will you. Maybe you can postpone the 2nd one til after the hunt.

WSD - You can send some rain this way. The last big rain we had was back in March...the cattle farmers are having a hard time, most are feeding hay to their livestock. I've been lucky here by diverting water from the pond flow well flowing into the pasture plus in the side 40. Having to move those pipes twice a day. Thank goodness for the swamp & river areas providing much needed grass. People are wanting to buy our hay, but we're holding on to it due to no hay to cut to replenish our last winter's usage.

I just looked at the WC and it shows LA with rain...well it 10:48 and still no liquid gold.
