You must have missed my earlier post where I back peddled that I may have misinterpreted yours & others "likes".
"Thanks Jeff & 2cmorau for your welcome. I interpreted their likes on the first post of this thread as an endorsement when they maybe were just "liking" that it got posted."
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Bill
I agree 100%. When I first heard about the MMAC and started reading what they were all about, I liked most of it until I came across the stuff about trying them trying to become a federal agency and whatnot. This is the last thing we need, anybody that thinks this could possibly be a good idea (having another federal department entangled with our public lands) needs to get their head examined. We should be trying to dissolve the BLM and USFS's control over mining activities on our lands, not get even more government involvement. That's absurd!Another government agency? Are you kidding me? Name me one efficient, competent government agency & one that hasn’t screwed you! “Hi, we’re from the government & we’re here to help you."
Yes I am. Have we met? Or did you catch that in the GPS chat last night? No problem Bluestar.......If you don't mind me askin....you from northern Wis?
A lot of you are jumping to conclusions on this deal, give it time to get straightened out, the idea is a good one but the way some of the wording goes and plan needs to be straightened out quite a bit, good intentions here I think just a little misunderstanding of HOW this sort of thing actually works best. After the meeting today more will be revealed.
Seen a lot of good intentions through the years chupacabra.
I'm thinking we've got more than enough "experts" telling amateur placer gold miners what they need. Maybe those with "good intentions" figured all those experts needed another national organization to help them spend their donated money more wisely?
These folks don't know squat about mining districts, mining law or how to structure an organization. Having meetings where actual miners aren't welcome due to lack of space just shows how important miners are in this newest scheme.
I'm hearing privately that the decisions of miners about this new group have already been made - a big ell NO! I have no doubt we will be informed about how this meeting brought about great new prospects for us poor ignorant miners. Another organization will be shoved down our throats with "good intentions".
I see incompetent representation from this organization from the beginning. I have no doubt the land management agencies will latch on to this incompetence and gladly accept these newbies as the sole voice for mining. What could be better for the BLM and Forest Service than a patsy to blame all their offenses on? I can hear the agencies now "we gave you just what your representatives asked for - how can you complain?".
I say RUN! far away from this nonsense as fast as you can. Grab your wallet before you go, without your money these "miners" will just wander on to the next scheme.
Just one man's thoughts.
