The 'chiggs been busy....

Just because I've been a little quiet lately, doesn't mean I haven't been busy! I've been reworking the coin spot from last year and have found 23 more so far. They all date from the 1790's to the 1830's. Most of them are silver half dollars with four 8-Reale and one 5-Franc silver (dollar) coins. Plus a couple odd balls. The silver and stone button was found in the area, but may not be related to the coin spill. That's 201 silver coins like this so far from this spot!

Here's another shot of one days finds. Notice how much darker they are when fresh from the water. I haven't cleaned them at all, and they are lightening naturally for some reason...

Video to follow, but not until the fall :(

Amazing finds. Most of us mere mortals will search for years and years and probably never find even just one of those coins. What's crazy is the fact that you didn't go back to this site for so long after finding the first 178 coins. My wife would have thought that I had left her for good if I had a site that produced like this one. Congratulations!

well that does it. I think I'm going to have to quit looking at your posts now.....lol. Man, what a summer you've had. A musket...umpteen artillery shells, buckets of bullets... To say that most of us are jealous would be a major understatement. HH and here's hoping you find 200 more......and of course that I do too....

Nice work Beau. You've become a living legend.

Holy cow! Perhaps the paymaster lost the payroll!

Wow!! Now that's what I call AQUA CHIGGIN!!! I'm surprised there were that many left. I would love to find just one of those coins!

Your original video is legendary and I go back to it time and again. Congrats on this latest installment of silvers!

Oh man, I think if I found a spot like that I would be taking a week or two off of work.

Man! thats just Awesome AC. that first post until this is just amazing! You have Flat hit the Honey hole! way to go......HH

I'm sure there are great finds out there for those who put in the effort, and even for those who put in none. I had to wait a while before going back to the site because too many people were wandering over to me and trying to figure out what I was finding. You can only say "not much" once to the same person before suspicions start to arise. Besides, I knew the remainder of the coins were deep and not likely to be accidently detected by the average Joe. Patience sometimes pays off.

fantastic haul man. I was wondering if you were going to find any more coins at that spot. whoever lost them back then was no doubt 'well-to-do' and it almost amazing that there were no gold coins in the mix. that has to be one of the most amazing finds I have ever seen

Holy moley! Bet there is more there.

Very Awesome Man..Im glad that place is still producing...Your finds last years is what prompted me to get the AT PRO!

WOW Beau... Congratuations on the additional silver. :headbang:

I think I'll follow you and HGD around at DIV. With the luck you two have, maybe some will rub off.
I know a lot of it is research and perserverance.

Again, congratulations!
