I’ll beep for a few hours every other weekend, not really pounding dirt the way I used to, but that’s ok, life is good.
But on my way home from work, I spied a sidewalk tear out, only 50 feet or so, but it’s an old street..... I started to drool.
15 cents in clad, roadside trash and scraps..... bummer.
But then.....this pops out.

A little copper box, ornate all around, and with 99% intact majolica glass on the top.
A pill box? Art Deco?..... super old, and super sweet....gotta be the coolest thing I’ve found all year.

Also, it’s heavy. It’s sealed shut, and I’m kinda scared to pry it open without F’ing it up.
But the curiosity is killing me.....are there Barbers in there?....or just dirt.
Stay tuned.

Thanks for looking!:hello:

Thank you Crusader for your comment regarding my find.....I do believe that it is that old.....and
I am honored by your response, as I’ve been drooling over your finds for years!:notworthy:

Very nice find BWD. I'm sure there has to be a way to open that box without messing it up, but I do not see a place for a key according to your pics. Maybe it was made to stay shut ? Just used as a sealed decoration piece ?

And also to you Jeffy..... I did get it open, earlier on page 3.... I would have started a fresh thread if it was packed with gold.

It happens to be on my 'to buy' antique wish list, but its a little expensive for the type I want. (ancient scene of an Italian site) What I love about these is the miniature element combined with amazing craftsmanship. I also have Italian family.

cant wait to see whats inside :)

Maybe it was a box full of kisses!
