The Belvedere Baltimore

Found this today. If I were to guess I would think it is the room key thing without the key. It is very heavy and made out of steel or lead. it reads

Front
The Belvedere Baltimore

Back
If Carried away drop in any mail box.
We guarantee delivery

and the number 604 stamped into it. (room number?)

There is a Belvedere hotel in Baltimore built in 1903 which it would appear this came from, but does anyone have any more information or can date it for me?

I think you guessed it. Room key tag. Lots of folks use to forget to leave the key! Monty
