Sunray DX-1, Lesche Digger
First time at a big 1868 house here. I gave up on one elusive +80's / +90's signal after digging an elephant trap. I may revisit that hole after the 2nd big dig. The 2nd one was an ephemeral high-80's number. I used the DX-1 (ghod bless the Sunray people) to direct the dig once I got 4" in. Virgin soil here is loose, with lots of small rocks. Some of the dings in this coin are probably attributable to the rocks. At least I didn't deck it. This isn't a high-value year, but this 1912-D has a lot of detail for a Barber dime.
I still don't have sufficient lighting for pics, so these don't show the beautiful pale silver color zat remind me of ze moon. Ah loave ze moon, an' ah loave zees coin. Sorry, the very nice homeowners--who told me to keep the coins like this and notify them of any Big Finds (we hope)-- are expatriate French folks. Ah loave zem, too. I'm going to spend a lot of time at this big site. There may be an Underground Railroad stop on the hill behind it (I'll be researching that).

I promised my non-MD'ing buddy Ray I'd mention the 1890 Seated dime (in at least F condition) that he found at a local middle school, just lying in the flower bed gleaming at him. Dog.. At least I now have my first Barber.
