That's no hole - this is a hole! *L*

Three foot hole dug today. Found a night-crawler. *L* Well he fell into hole after I was done.
I tried my hand at dowsing for caches. All I can say is - I better not retire my MD. *L* I did find lots of junk with a MD
but nothing worth keeping. 200+ year old sites can be so much fun. The hunt for something other than iron/junk continues.
My two box detector has not visited this site yet. I'm still practicing digging holes! *L*
BTW, I've been told there are up to 3 caches on this property by dowsers. We shall see. HH!

One dowser gave me an e-mail address and said to take pictures and send for further exact location. The e-mail address provided returned my e-mail as 'NOT FOUND'. And yes, there is no GPS location on any of my photos. Draw your own conclusions. :-)

dowsing from a photo is more than a little hard to believe for me, not sayin' it's b.s., but I am a skeptic.

See how many items are posted here found by dowsers and LRL users. Anybody ever actually seen even one?? Stick to your detector, it won't lie.

You need to dig two foot to the right and six foot down:laughing7:

Your off ETEX - It's 6 feet to the right and 2 feet down - I think it's a Viking treasure chest from 280 BC.

Line that hole with some old bricks and turn it into a Outhouse .. That would give future generations something to dig.:tongue3:

I've thought about trying dowsing but then I'd have to answer questions from the general public that I don't have the answers to. But sometimes you just know there's something there but the where is the problem. With my luck I'd be standing right on top of it looking around trying to find it! Lol!

Your are correct Ringfinder, there is a lot of sunspot interference today and it threw my calculations off a hair:BangHead:

well this original post serves three purposes. 1) very old properties don't always have old coins all over the place that are easy to find
2) either dowsing doesn't work or I really suck at it! *L* But I'm willing to have an open mind and try things. This is sandy soil
and very easy to dig. I didn't mind digging this hole.
3) if there is no cache to be found - you won't find it. :) *L*
Back to my old methods -a good metal detector and Charlie Garrett's Two-box detector.

I did hit an apparent button lotto! *L*
TN6609.JPG These have to be decades old because when was the last time you saw buttons with metal holders? Guess designed to hang on pegboard type display in stores.
arrgggg if buttons be found - can the trove be far behind? LOL

An old water witch taught me how to cut a divining rod and how to use it. I didn't keep up the practice but I must admit, there were times the rod would react over a certain area.

I used them once to find water but it kept running out of my pocket. ;)

you may be on to something. :) you just never know until you try

yes and that's why it's called 'T. hunting' right? Just like fishing isn't called catching. If I went out and dug gold, or silver or a cache everyday - what fun would that be? *L* Thanks. :)
