I got out for the day with a bud from "the city" for some scouting and detecting. We started at a site where I've hunted in the past just to get warmed up and I found the larger shield thing. This is mostly a Victorian site so I would age the shield based on that but there isn't anything on it to identify it but I'm thinking furniture brass. I've got it in peroxide right now and hoping for something.
We then decided to go knocking on doors and the first site we tried we got enthusiastic permission! It is a HUGE area which has seen occupation from the mid 1600s to the 1930s. Of course I'm more interested in the older targets but will take it all. I know there is old there becasue of the tombac button and the broken buckle frame but most of finds were later. The small shield is a WWI or WWII sweetheart brooch which is in the lemon juice right now. I thought the padlock was pretty cool and the Lusitania pocket watch! My partner also found a pocket watch and a wrist watch...weird.
