Well, after all the tips today I couldn't resist trying them so I head to the beach this evening. The tide was way out so I started along the water line. After only a few swings I started hitting clad, I assume this was the "coin line" Anthony mentioned. I slowed down and started working this area very slow and then I get a hit, it shows "foil" at 5". As adviced I dug it anyway and to my surprise in the scoop is a glimpse of gold. Turns out to be a woman's small gold ring with what appears to be a saphire stone.
This is great I don't feel like a rookie anymore. Thanks All...

Nice ring ,,, Good job ...    Guzz

thats beautiful, congrats!

Nearly all of my good rings in the water came in or around dense coin packs, they are great places to investigate.

WOW thats a very pretty ring!! WTG!

the first of many rings I'm sure --to get rings steady your going to have to dig trashy signals ( foil / pulltabs)-- no two ways about it .

thats a very nice find! i always dig every signal at the beach. those thin gold rings can come in all over the place on your target ID. the more and more experiance i get, the more and more i am beginning to realize that target ID probably hurts more than it helps. if it sounds tight and solid, dig that sucker out!

Nice job I think my wife would have had that one on her finger also. Good for you they will keep coming...

Awesome ring! I continue to be amazed at how many rings must be lost at beaches all over the world. Keep looking and you'll find more and more.

Jim
