Texas island vanishes in storm

Hey WDFF the lot on 27th and Harborside produced some silver coins back in the 70's for one of my buddy's.On 33 st. where farmers copper is use to be the city dump, I don't know when the warehouse was built but when FC moved in the 70's we dug 100's of bottles from what is now the parking lot. Most of other lots and fields along HS are full of metal a few years ago I saw a guy hunting a lot at 37th after work I stop and walked around he had dug alot of holes and everyone had a piece of scrap metal or a rusty spikes by it. I have a lot of info about Galveston and is histroy one day when your in town we can get a cup of coffee or a beer and I will tell you 100's of places to hunt on or near the island. Bobby

I was born in La Marque Texas and remember a very big explosion at one of the refineries. It broke some of the windows in our house. I saw stories about chunks of metal going through homes and on piece going through a mattress that someone was laying on.
That was probably around the 60s I think.
