Just wanted any thoughts on the Tesoro Sand Shark. I'll be hunting mostly on the treasure coast beaches and from what I read, the PI detector is the one since I'll be digging every target. I'm capped at around 600$ and I'm new to md'ing. Also, is a pinpointed necessary when using a long handled beach scoop or is it just more of a convenience tool? Thanks!

You do not use a pinpointer on a saltwater beach. You do need a GOOD long handled sandscoop - the bigger the better. I like RTG aluminum scoops because they are lighter. The Sand Shark is a GREAT pulse induction unit at $600.00 - I suggest the 8" coil.

Thanks for the advice!

I posted in "today's finds" a little while ago with pics, but I was wondering if you knew how to clean oxidation without damaging the find?? I stumbled across a couple metal pieces while walking on a treasure coast beach today.
