Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
After the Louisiana trip last week , The Tennessee Trio reunited for a short hunt between the showers that has been the norm here in Tennessee since the first of the year. We returned to the 1862 U.S. infantry & cavalry camp where we hunted hard in 2012. The ground was saturated so we expected the F75s and Doug’s newly acquired Fisher Coinstrike detector to read some deep signals even though the 500+ relics we have collectively dug there to date were just in the 5-6 inch average depth range. We were not disappointed. Doug has had minimal practice time with his Coinstrike and soon swapped it for his trusty F75 LTD.
Less than an hour into the hunt, Josh received a call that his youngest daughter (Boo) was ill at school and I had to drive him back to his vehicle so he could go pick her up. While I was gone, Doug recovered a nice coat size GS eagle button with secure shank that will clean up nicely. I dug the iron wiper a.k.a. cleaning jag and unearthed 3 dropped & pulled minnies on my way back to meet Doug after Josh left. Doug & I hunted another couple of hours after Josh left and found more bullets. With 60+ degrees in Tennessee in January, it was a great day to hunt three hours and start 2013 off with a respectable Trio hunt. Notice Modern Miner’s prize for the first Trio member to dig a relic during our first hunt of 2013 in the video. Also, note Doug’s “Buckleboy like vest”-LOL. HH from the Trio, Quindy.

Thanks Richard. I look forward to reading your new book "Lexington, Virginia and the Civil War" in March. The You Tube promo with the same title as your book was great and I had never seen the old pics of V.N.I. HH, Quindy.

I hope you are right about the plate Dawg!! Thanks for your encouragement and good luck to you from the Trio in 2013 Bud. HH, Q.

Thanks Bird!! We are fortunate to have local spots where we can dig a few CS & US relics. HH, Quindy.

We enjoy making the videos MD1. Thanks for looking. HH from the Trio,

Your copy will be one of the first going out!

Thats the way to start the year off. Hope Doug kept the same joke told to a minimum. I'm excited to get out soon with BB to try to find my first 2013 silver. Cheers, HH Shanegalang

Thanks Shane. BB called me tonight and good luck to you guys tomorrow Bud. Find a nice CS camp and save it for us-LOL. I hope to hear "AIEEE" on my phone tomorrow. Yes, Doug told me 2 new variations of that same old joke again. HH, Quindy.

I was worried about you Herbie. I had not seen you on Tnet lately and was afraid a large Groundhog had dragged you in his den to hibernate with him-LOL. Thanks my friend and I am hoping that you can get out and find the nice variety of artifacts you consistently do up there. HH, Quindy.
