Went to dump my nickels from yesterday and noticed in the tellers tray she had 4 halves, 1 of which looked like a 90%er, I told her to give me 98 dollars and the rest in halves. So she gave me 98 dollars, 3 halves and 2 quarters.... I am thinking to myself..uh... What the hell? I told her why can't I have the other half? She said it was special, the bank manager came over too her and agreed. So I got the money from my nickels, went outside and fumed some. Went back in and decided to cancel my account. They said it would cost 25 dollars to cancel my account!!!! Also unknowing to me they have been taking 8 dollars a month out of my account because I haven't used my debit card more than 25 times a month... WOW. I went apes**t ballistic, I told them I wasn't paying it and to give me all the money out of my account except for 8 dollars to cover the account for this month. The bank will take the 8 dollars out for this month and my account will go to 0.00 therefore closing my account and I owe them nothing. I flipped them off the whole time I walked out. I am now probably now on some terrorist watch list because of 1 half dollar... Oh and if you are wondering the bank is Regions.. I will never do business with them again and would not recommend them to anyone of you!!! Thanks for reading my rant. >:(

"Talk about stupid bank charges... my bank started tacking on a charge for every transaction, INCLUDING DEPOSITS. They also started charging for every check that came in out of sequence. After banking there for around 16 years, changes come and go without my knowing. In fact, this reminds me that I need to check and see if there have been any new "little charges" added recently that I'm unaware of."

Wow, that pain is going to feel so good when it stops.

Do I need your permission to continue on with a rant? Last time I checked this is the United States of America. There is a document called the constitution that has these things called amendments written with it.(You should probably look into it!) The first one says I have freedom of speech. Did I do anything threatening? No. Was there anyone else in the bank besides employees when I went back in? No. It's a thing called tact. If you would have read I went back in after fuming OUTSIDE in my truck away from everyone else. I went back in 5 minutes before closing. What really pissed me off was the fee to terminate the account. You are the one who needs to get over yourself. Go find something better to do than try to tell people how to act on a forum. Not I or Anybody else has asked for your opinion. Good day sir. :D

As long as we're giving each other lessons, let's focus on "TACT" (and your lack thereof). So you are tactful because you waited outside until there were no customers before you went back in to conduct yourself as you described? That is not tact. Smart, maybe, not to have any witnesses (except for the other employees and those pesky security cameras - I would love to see THAT footage!), but I'm guessing if your parents were sitting off to the side and viewed your tantrum, it would not be among their fondest memories of you.

And you abased yourself over $10? Really? You don't value your personal reputation and self worth that highly, it seems. Whatever, you made your decision, so now you have one less bank to work with for dumps and orders.

And the other poster who said that just leaving $8 in the account won't result in its closure is correct -- you're going to get HAMMERED with fees until you actually close it. All those tellers you flipped off will be snickering when you have to go back into that bank to try and weasel your way out of that negative balance with some manager. Karma, it seems, really is a ________!

Most bank are becoming outrageous with their fees, closing the account is a personal choice, finding a bank that doesn't have outrageous charges is not going to be easy, most have them these days, credit unions are a better choice.

All that anger over what was probably only a 40% half, worth maybe $16.00 at today's prices and to let something that trivial cause that much anger is really bad for ones health...

Tellers are not obligated to give someone a silver coin over a clad coin from their cash drawer and swapping out a silver coin they spot in the cash drawer with clad is just a perk of the teller's job, they are not well paid and usually have a boring and stressful job......

Most supervisors are going to support their teller, I know I would if I were their supervisor......

They said if the account does hit 0.00 with me owing them nothing it will close. I already have accounts with every other bank in town including the credit union. If it doesn't close when it hits 0.00 and they do try to charge me fee's I will go to small claims court as recommended. I live in a relatively small town in south Mississippi so banks here are always vying for each others business. One bank I am with pays me alittle over 2% interest just to have a checking account with them! Anyway in hindsight I am thinking about keeping the account to just dump all over them. I already have another bank that has agreed to order me halves and whatever else I need. The thing is strings sends the tight machine rolls. There are no "free" coin counting machines here. They all charge around 10%!! So I am either gonna have to buy rolls in bulk or pay 10 percent. Most of you have an easy out to dump I ,however, do not. So it is a catch 22 either way I suppose. oh wellllllll ::)

Well were to begin. 1st off I acknowledge and understan your rant and I have had 2 solid rolls of silver counted out and snatched right in front of me...so I get it. But also in those founding documents you refered to is a urging for civility, kindness to fellow man. And a firm relience on truths that all men are created equal and have a inaliable right given by God the right to life, liberty, and the pursut of happiness. All that being said 2 wrongs dont make a right. I understand fees and so sounds like u didn't shoot youself in the foot. But your still out the 25 and 8 per. The sad reality is those fees WERE listed in the fine print. Its a law called "truth in dislosure" thats we have the saying "read the fine print". And let me tell u im just as guilty.....but there is a more productive way that I could have got some of the money back. See there is a productive way to complain...and get results...i have done it thought my life with tons of results. First when complaining u must be nice, tell the teller "i understand its the policy and not u" u seperate it out so the person understands its not them but the company. Then if getting no where u ask to speak to a manager. Then from there you can take all kinds of tactics. One for exampleis threatin to lodge a complaint with bbb. And explain to them the time and effort for a member to respond and the potential negative mark ....stuff like that...squeaky wheel gets the grease.... But please dont let me get in the way of your rant

The manager was not there. She will be back monday and I will be going to speak to her. Two solid rolls? You didn't even try to talk to the bank manager and get them too? You are a better man than I will ever be.
