Teknetics T2
Anyone who is considering a T2 let me tell you ...don't hesitate. In only 2 weeks i have found over 20 wheats, 1 silver nickel, 1 I.H. , 1 S.L. Quarter and 1 seates dime. All of these came from an old homeplace that was literally hunted out by my other detectors. I had already given up on finding anything else at this spot and i'm still gong back because i believe there is more there. Most of the cons were 5 to 6 inches in VERY mineralized soil...looks like coal had been stacked there, i'm sure a lot of you have seen soil like that. Today i dug a token at 8 inches and it was screaming at me. I searched, studied and finally i am satisfied with my detector. Just thought i'd let ya'll know how well it works.

Welcome to the world of the T2. It is a metal killer machine.

The best depth I've come up with to date is a 1919 Wheat penny at 8 inches. (The depth registered accurately, typically I find the depth 1"-2" off - after subtracting the height of the coil to the ground). When it hits on silver or copper you know it's a good signal before you dig.

My common settings are:
Typically the GB is 54 - 68 (using fastgrab - if fastgrab can't, I manually adjust starting out at 45), sensitivity 75 - 85 disc out iron and 3b tone (still using version 5 software) I very seldom use all metal mode. If I am picking up outside EM interference I will adjust the frequency down, rather than up. The lower frequencies seem to work better for me.

i am just a few days away from buying one, but i need some insight

i will be using it mainly for relic hunting in va...................i have only been like 5 times now, but i kinda like it..............................have been a beach hunter for 18 years, will still be a beach hunter, but needed something to do in the fall and winter, so here i am.

my question is this

how well will it work in the damp sand / shallow surf zone....................i know it will work great in the dry sand.

all i have used is excalibur and sovereings in the past and i never had to worry about the damp sand or water, i just went on in when using the sovereign.

i have sold sovereign and another excal and bought a new excal II i dec when they came out and have been using it for the dirt.................man it does ok tooo

i hunted last weekend with a fellow with the T-2 and i really like it

just curious about the damp zone

thanks

I recommend videos from SHnewengland-the lead guy, bILL lADD USES ONE -i R5EALLY WANT ONE BUT i GOT A bh pLATINUM IN aPRIIL and while I like it a lot, it's too soon for an upgrade.
He did a review of Teknetics Omega 8000 ( about $600) and he loved it-DD coil is optional, though. Good Luck
