I've watched these forums for sometime and a constant issue of close up picture quality seems to be a common one.
About a month ago on Woot (run now by amazon vs. the robot vacuum cleaner folks), they had a pretty good deal.
Tasco 120x USB-Equipped Digital Microscope
I bought one for my grandson, and one for myself. For the $29.99 price I figured it was worth a shot.
My grandson has been going crazy with it for looking at slide stuff, however, the ad shows great close ups of a coin as well, and this is where I was intrigued.
I've yet to actually find a need for it to display items here, but the simplicity of using a USB microscope is pretty much a piece of cake for the less technical folks there.
