Got a Surf PI dual field in November and have been trying to figure it out. I will swing my coil over a target in multiple directions to "locate"it. When I dig I do find the target but not in the center of my field but usually on the edge of the inner field farthest from me.Short of getting a back hoe,(this machine does go deep) any pointers on locating targets? Also why does the machine double sound when going over some targets? Maybe I am passing over two bobbie pins?:laughing7: Any help would be nice. Thanks. OldSean

a close to the surface target will double beep
and one time i dug right between to target
that why you want too turn and swing
x your target.

Try lifting coil just a bit when you X . This technique helps to pinpoint on the whites PI dual field. The detection field on the PI goes to the outer edge. I have heard it described as a bowl shape. With practice lifting coil while keeping it level and not tilting, I found it a little easier to pin point. Also, see what changing sweep speed does when lifting coil a bit. To practice, Try placing a target under a piece of paper on the ground with this technique. Hopefully this helps you.
Cheers,
Dan
