Taking out a newbie for first hunt...

I rarely do this but I gained a 1 off permission for a work colleague to try detecting with me. He's been thinking about buying a detecting & I'm sharing my knowledge.
We only had a short 1.5 hour window after work & I wanted to put him onto something other than rubbish.
I picked 'The Field of 500' which we have done well over the years but still has plenty of small Roman Coins left.
I lent him my old Tesoro Silver Sabre & in less than 10 minutes & the first dig he had a broken half of a Roman Coin. After about 1 hour 15 minutes the sun was going down & I said we would detecting our way back to the car & we may get our best find. I got another button & he got his nicest Roman Coin of the day (condition wise), making 2.5 coins.

I was happy enough to coach & get 5 scrappies in the process.

Yeah. I get that a lot. The main reason I can't do this very often. It kills my favours with the landowners. Land-Mag, Cru'dad & I are a trusted team, most our land-owners don't like groups or clubs. Part of our success.

He brought a machine the next day (XP Deus - light). No-one joins our group, we are not for joining.
He can benefit from my years of experience for no charge & find his own permissions.
