This is made of brass and appears to be hand stamped with the number 11, with one number a little stronger than the other as if it were stamped by hand. No pin back, no hole, nothing but a square with the 11.Not even a trace of any solder marks on the reverse. I am not so sure a game piece would have needed a number 11 stamped on it back when this was made, assuming that it is as old as I suspect. There were a few Inns on the property back in the 1850s, but not sure if it is related. This one has been a mystery to me for many years now, HELP. Thanks for looking.

If there were some inns it could possibly be a room number?

Thanks Happy Camper, I often wondered that but could never see how it was used. I would think it would have a hole through it to secure to a key or to the door of the room. I have seen similar hotel tags which had that hole in it.

Maybe it's something like this....a universal adjustable wall calendar

That would about fit the bill but sure looks like a lot of work for a calendar.Pretty neat concept though.

You never have to buy another calendar though! The numbers representing the days just slide in a slot so you can line them up with the corresponding day of the week.
