We went to see if the new sites had been cultivated & luckily they had.
We started on Top T Right as it had a some enclosure that took less than an hour to cover. It was a blank, so it's unidentified but probably not Roman. (Maybe Iron Age/Bronze Age?)
I then wanted to start our gridding on the large site in Top T Left but wanted to test a theory that it extended into the field we were doing. Cru'dad & I ran either side of where we think the Roman trackway went & before I got to the edge I got a Sestertius & then another scrappy nearby. Therefore, that area is confirmed for another day.
We then gridded Top T Left rounding off to 5 hours & got:
15 Scrappies
2 Roman Bracelet bits
Roman Partifact
WWI Kings Own Scottish Boarders Button (a first, I think...)
RAF Buttons
US Great Seal Button (small)

We then decided to do a wander on the T Shaped Field for 1 hour & got 3 scrappies, so a total of 20.

It's not a great start but at least now we know where to settle down for awhile.

Nice hunt

Old saying-"Where there's bronzes there's a silver-where there's silver there's gold"
Now that sounded easy...:laughing7:

An impressive haul as always. What is the wire thing, bottom right of pic 5? I have found a couple of bits identical to that on my Roman field but thought they were nothing.
