time to update this story. it’s been awhile since any new information has made it on here, has anyone made any progress on finding where exactly Arbuthnot’s store was at? i have read that it was across the river from bowlegs town which is very near fanning springs on the dixie side and i’ve also read that it was in suwannee near the point?

All the info I gathered on the Trading Post. It was on the South Side of Tampa Bay near Ruskin. 27.6669764 -82.5331517. I have also found there was 1 site on Harris Island, 1 on Goodson Island and 2 sites on Odulumd Island just west of Swannee. E7D6F507-D6D8-4482-BE2A-9D4B7A596742.jpeg According to the Annals of the Congress of the US , Arbuthnot in 1855 was tried for selling arms to the Indians and Slaves. Everything in the testimony points toward Swannee for the location for the trading post.
