On January first I did well finding 178 coins in three hours. February first however was super! Heading south out of the snow and cold I found a couple of prime areas for new change. At the first I found 181 coins including 81 quarters. At the second I found an area I couldn't believe I hadn't searched before,it had the potential for many many quarters and it did.
Previously the most quarters I had ever found in a day was 183,which I thought I would never break, Wrong! Yesterday I found 214!
Here are my total finds from my first 400 plus day in five years;
Cents; 68
Nickels; 3(two with other coins and one surface find)
Dimes; 118
Quarters; 214
half dollars; 1
Dollars; 2
Silver ring,(sterling CTR ring)
key
dance medal.
I thank Bula for taking and posting pictures of my finds,Good Hunting, Kane 23

50+ bucks in quarters, yeah!

Kane, you're about the only person I know of on Tnet who ends up finding more quarters than dimes or pennies when they look for clad. With my experience from swinging in the turf, there's many more penny/dime signals than quarter signals. I recall you saying that you cherry-pick signals, which explains the higher quarter counts. Just amazing! It seems like you're detecting areas where md'ers haven't detected in years. Can you tell us if your sites you detect are typically parks and schools?

Congrats!

You're totals are great and cherry picking does have its benefits!! With low nickel counts your gold finds must be low, but of course, with those totals you can buy your own gold!! Very impressive counts!!! Maybe not banner, but banner when it comes to clad hunting!!!

You know i never have went to the parks around here clad hunting (I am always looking for something old), but if I could have days like that........

You do very well Kane! All that clad looks to have been there for awhile and nothing to new or shiney. Congrats and HH, Mike

Kane, well done

Have you considered changing your name to Kane25c???

You shall soon have enough for a quality digital camera of your own. Keep on hunting and posting those most excellent coin totals.

Hal

Did you get onto one of those spots I told you about?

Sorry about the Parowan spot, I thought it would be much better.

Great Job!! Nice to see that you cashed in!!!

That sure is a lot of digging. WTG....Matt

wow i found 242 coins in 2 days at the vortex hunt. i was mighty sore , too. i cant magine 405 coins in one day. and i was diggin soft sand. was this a loose sand area where the coins could be scooped insteada dug? CONGRATULATIONS

Plumloco, I went to the southeast, same towns that I had the 304 coin day, no I did'nt search the spots you mentioned. I have a digital camera for use,I could take the pictures but I do not have a home computer or home internet connection, nor will I, the wife refuses to have the internet in our home. I cannot transfer pictures here at the public library,so I have to depend upon others.(Bula or kayo).
Jack, I found six gold rings last year and 41 silver, when I find gold rings, I am looking for gold rings(Discriminator set at foil) I do this on days when I have to search areas that I have already searched and don't expect to find a lot of dimes and quarters. I always search with low discrination(below foil) in ghost towns or old dumps.Capt SE,a lot of times I ignore deeper dime penny signals,I discriminate out most zinc pennies and that eliminates a lot of them. I almost always use a 4 by 7 inch coil,I say smaller is better! My detector is a tesoro tejon, which does'nt even have a meter. 40 years of detecting experience does'nt hurt, most people I detect with usually find half or less coins than I do. I search many parks and schools and often find areas at those locations that other people pass up. I also look for areas that other people ignore for the most part . Scrounger I found the coins in 8 hours give or take in the grass for the most part,I'm still very sore.. Good hunting, kane 23

405 in 8 hours that is a coin every 1min and 18secs if my math is right. That is very amazing. Way to go
i would be very tired and sore indeed.

Wow!!!! That is some kind of digging!!! Congratulations! This really is Banner material, most people don't have a clue how to dig clad, or what is really involved.

That is one impressive day. Kinda hard to stop digging when you're popping quarters out of the ground!

Congrats on your record breaking day!!!

Thats crazy! What a day. WTG
